Stone-Milled Heritage Flour, Raw Honey and Hand-Packed Farm Preserves

The pantry at Rural Valley Farms is built on things you cannot buy at a grocery store, not because they are rare, but because they are made right. Our heritage-grain flours are stone-milled in small batches from ancient wheat varieties grown for flavor and nutrition, not shelf life. Our raw honey is unfiltered and unheated. Our preserves are packed by hand in small batches using seasonal ingredients.

02

Raw Honey, Pure Maple Syrup and Hand-Made Seasonal Preserves

Our Raw Honey at $12 per 16 oz jar is local wildflower honey, unfiltered, unheated, and full of natural enzymes and pollen. Pure Maple Syrup at $15 per 12 oz is 100 percent real maple, Grade A dark amber, with no additives or corn syrup. Molasses at $16 per 16 oz is unsulfured blackstrap, rich and mineral-dense, ideal for baking bread. Our small-batch preserves include Dill Pickles, Bread and Butter Pickles, Sweet Relish, and Candied Jalapenos. Assorted Jams and Jellies are made seasonally. Call or email for current flavors.

Stone-Milled Heritage Grain Flour, Milled Fresh on the Farm

Stone milling preserves the bran, germ, and endosperm of the grain, keeping the nutrients, oils, and flavor that roller-milling strips away. Einkorn Wheat at $3 per 2 lb is one of the oldest cultivated wheats, nutty and slightly sweet, excellent for pasta and flatbreads. Emmer Wheat at $4 per 2 lb is higher in protein and fiber with a deep earthy flavor. Soft White Wheat at $2.15 per 2 lb is mild and finely milled, perfect for pastries. Hard Winter White at $2.15 per 2 lb is our all-purpose bread flour. Rye at $1.95 per 2 lb is whole-grain rye for sourdough and crackers.

Why Stone-Milled Heritage Flour Makes a Real Difference in Your Baking

Commercial roller-milled flour removes the bran and germ to extend shelf life, stripping away natural oils, fiber, and up to 40 percent of the grain's original nutrients. Stone milling keeps the whole grain intact, producing flour with more depth of flavor, better nutrition, and a natural complexity that makes your bread, pasta, and pastries noticeably better. Heritage varieties like Einkorn and Emmer have different gluten structures than modern hybridized wheat and many home bakers find them more forgiving and more flavorful.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Einkorn and Emmer are ancient heritage wheat varieties that predate modern hybridized wheat by thousands of years. They have different gluten structures, more complex flavors, and retain more natural nutrients. Stone-milling preserves the whole grain, unlike commercial roller-milled flour which removes the bran and germ for shelf stability.
Yes. Our raw honey is never heated above ambient temperature and is coarsely strained, not fine-filtered, so the natural pollen, propolis, and enzymes remain intact. It may crystallize over time which is a sign of genuine raw honey. To reliquefy, gently warm the jar in a bowl of warm water.
Our preserves are seasonal and change throughout the year based on what we harvest. Common flavors include Strawberry, Blackberry, Peach, and Apple Butter in the fall. Call or email us for current availability or subscribe to our email list to get notified when new batches are ready.
Our stone-milled flours are currently available in 2 lb bags. For larger orders of 10 lb or more, please call ahead. We mill in small batches so pre-ordering for bulk quantities ensures you get the freshest possible flour.
Yes, with some adjustments. Heritage flours like Einkorn absorb liquid differently than modern all-purpose flour and may require slightly less water. Emmer and Hard Winter White perform closest to modern bread flour. We recommend starting with a 50/50 blend while you learn how it behaves in your specific recipes.
